New edition - Barcelona Inline Cup

After 7 consecutive years celebrating the Barcelona Inline Cup, we present, now we are goning to prepare the 8th edition, 2020. Some of the best female and male teams around the world will compete and try to win the tournament. The war is ready!

The best inline level will be guaranteed. We promise you roller-coaster and fully competed encounters between teams that will fight to win the trophy, but only the incredible ability of the players and best team play of one team each will be able to hoist the BARCELONA ÀMFORA trophy, exclusive only to male and female winners of major Barcelona events.

Through this years organizing this high level competition, we have seen the struggle of each player to achieve with their effort the victory of their team, with a fighting ability and inhuman exhaustion. Always ends up rewarding us and them the best.

Team strategy, tactics and luck are important and part of the game. The team that manages to put on in its own side will have many more chances to win.

But is not just a tournament where you fight to get the greatest prize; the other part of the success of the Barcelona Inline Cup is that it has become a benchmark where teams share experiences and knowledge of about hockey, teams from different countries and cultures coexist, relationships are established and teams and players evolve into a more global hockey. It is another victory that makes all participating teams also feel as winners.

The city of Barcelona is one of the most important sport capitals in the world. Club Esportiu Barcelona Tsunamis is in charge of the organization of the Barcelona Inline Cup, the only International Women and Male Inline Hockey tournament in Barcelona and we work hard all year for your unlimited enjoyment during the tournament.

The Tournament

Eight female and eight male international high level teams over the world will compete distributed in two groups. The results between the teams in the same group will determine the group classification, which will lead to the champion determination by the knockout stage.


The tournament will take place on 12th and 13th September 2020, starting on Saturday 12th at 9:00 am until late in the afternoon and ending on Sunday 13th at 3:00 pm.

The place

The tournament will take place at the CEM HOrta, who was one of the sports center for the Barcelona World Roller Games. The sports center has two inline rinks and fences, enough changing rooms for all 16 teams , four dressing room  for referees and other services.

An environment such as Barcelona City allows not only to carry out this tournament, but is held in a unique setting in Barcelona.

Competition format

The format of the tournament is an initial two league division qualifying groups. The group division will be random and the teams will separately play in each group all against all. The qualifiers will be held throughout Saturday. The final matches will be played on Sunday morning, which will decide the classification positions, including the semi-finals and final matches and the closing ceremony.

All games played for classifications will run on time at a rate of 20 minutes per part. All games played on Sunday will run on stop timer at a rate of 15 minutes per part, except finals that will be played at a rate of 20 minutes per part stop timer.

It will be played according to the FIRS (European agency) rules and the scoring system durin group stage will be:

Match won: 3 points
Match tied: 1 point (penalties, and an extra point for the winning team)
Match lost: 0 points

Extra-game time will consist in 10 warm-up minutes and 5 minutes of intermediate time.


The tournament starts on Saturday morning. However, acomodation will be provided to all teams since the night before so that they can travel to Barcelona on Friday and thus be more rested on Saturday morning to start the competitions.

  • The tournament will begin at 9:00 am on Saturday September 12th and will take place throughout the day at the rate of one match per hour, starting o'clock.
  • Between 12:00 am and 3:00 pm there will be a balanced menu catering for all players. Each team will have lunch at the best hour according to their matches.
  • Last Saturday's game will be played at 8:00 pm.
  • At 10:00 pm all the players must be at a popular beach restaurant in the Barcelona Olympic Village to have dinner.
  • The tournament will resume on Sunday 13th, at 9:00 am with the first game. The facilities will be opened from 8:00 am for the first teams.
  • The final game will take place at 14:00.
  • At 15:30, trophies will be awarded and will take place the closing act of the tournament.


Each winning team (male and female competition) will be awarded the trophy  CIUTAT DE BARCELONA. There will be awards to 2nd and 3rd place teams for each competition.

There will be 3 individual trophy categories for each competition:

  • Best Goalkeeper
  • Most complet player
  • Maximum scorer


Barcelona has a lot of different types of accommodation. The most closest accommodation to the sports complex will be informed shortly to help team accommodation.

Each team will be responsible for booking their rooms (in one of these or any other accommodation).

For lunch on Saturday there will be a free catering service in the same facilities, so that the teams and companions do not have to travel. The organization will cover the cost of the players, a coach and a team delegate.
